How The Hellanbak toolkit Came to be:
As a young International Enduro competitor back in
the eighties I was always trying to keep the dirt
bike as light as possible and easy to repair.
Keeping the tool kit down to a minimum became an artform that bordered on an obsession and many self made multi tools were used.
During the next decades I raced a variety of vehicles over many terrains and still the ability to fix things "on the go" was just as important. Having the right tool for the job is vital for a successful repair while away from any service.
Now I build cars for desert racing including the infamous Dakar Rally in which I have competed and organised the service for the team of cars and bikes.
I have helped over 350 people experience this great adventure with more than half of them getting to the finish no mean achievement. I now have a good idea of what is needed when the wheels fall off your great plan.
Building a great toolbox is not about the biggest or best equipped , It is a careful balance ,A combining of needs versus redundancy, For sure a toolkit than isn't good enough to fix a problem can be useless but so can a toolbox that is too heavy that it contributes to the breakdowns in the first place.
The Hellanbak Toolkit has been evolving, race after race.
What is included or left out, leaving space for specialised tools is as important as the layout and accessibility of every item.
This ToolKit will give help to people when they need it the most,
over and over again.
