Bog fix

On a trip like this you expect things to break, and we all carry bodging stuff for little mends on route, bigger stuff requires towns and city infrastructure.
However, when our portable toilet broke, I decided that there was zero chance of fixing it and we would manually add fragrance fluid periodically because the chance of finding Thetford spares in Uganda would be  nil.
But…
On the amazing haven campsite beside the Nile we met a Dutch couple, we happened to mention the disaster and he jumped up and rummaged in his van and… He had spare part we needed!!!
On their way across Europe theirs broke and it was cheaper to buy a new toilet than get the spare seal they needed.
He couldn’t just throw all the old one away, so he stripped the usable parts just in case.
Sometimes travelling bring the most unexpected surprises.
