we stayed at a lodge run by a Belgium just outside Kitale, he had trials bikes and a BMW Gs, and lots of off road to play with, we enjoyed the pool and the amazing food before leaving for the border<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rwanda-Tanzania border is a new one stop shop affair, everything is in one building and it all went well, African borders are not what they used to be…so far \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we slummed it on a wild camp 5km from the border after staying by the pool until late on the Umuko lodge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

then we hit the road early so we could get some miles done, Tanzania is a huge place<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the roads are good but the speed limit is enforced mercilessly, in Rwanda they had state of the art speed cameras everywhere in Tanzania evry village is 30mph and has a policeman at the speed sign.. painful as there are a lot of villages and the roads are very straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we managed 400km and found a wild camp location<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the camp location keep getting better and better then they will have to work hard to beat this one by the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this was the sunset, the locals had a cart pulled by two Oxen into the lake and where filling containers with water, after the sun went sown a full moon came up and we could see the Ox walking along the shoreline<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the next day was a 3 stop by the police day trying to tell us we where speeding, the firt was 1km down the road from are wildcamp, he told us we had done 77kmh in the last village and we must pay a fine, i showed him the gps and that we had camped this side of the village, he walked off without his bonus money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we knocked up 480kms that day all at the speed limit \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

onwards to serengheti..or not at $500 a day, but we could stay next door for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
