from Victoria falls to the Namibian borders isn’t that far, around a couple of hundered Km’s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but the road condition is crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it took 5 hours where it should have been just a couple<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"pot<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

this photo is the first pothole and the best bit of the entire road, and from there on it was a motorcross track with odd bits of tarmac, with truck and buses stuck or swerving violently in front of us. it was dead flat but the speeds where down to 40km\/h max, what a pain in the arse road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zambian roads are bad but this was epic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

these buses do the off road track, we saw one axle deep bus and trailer, must be one hell of a bus ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After a very simple border crossing Namibia was change we stayed on a campsite next to the Zambezi just inside Namibia so we could stock up on good food in the border town and get a SIM card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cleanliness and organization stepped up a lot in Namibia, but the sense of humour in the locals dropped to zero, the Zambians were all very cheerful, the Namibians not so much, maybe just a border town thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day we decided to miss all the National parks at the top of Namibia, we are all Hippo’d out and head for Etosha national park .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

half way we stayed at a random campsite next to a river<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what are the campsite like in Namibia?, well, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/mark>This is one pitch,<\/mark> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

next to the river<\/p>\n\n\n\n

sunset views<\/p>\n\n\n\n

space for 4 cars<\/p>\n\n\n\n

space for 4 tents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table & chairs outside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table and chairs under thatched roof for sun shade<\/p>\n\n\n\n

sinks with warm water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

barbecue with free wood<\/p>\n\n\n\n

private toilet<\/p>\n\n\n\n

private shower <\/p>\n\n\n\n

full-size fridge freezer with cold water dispenser<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a set of steps down to a jetty to launch boats from<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

how much a night I hear you ask ???<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20\u00a3 , yes 20\u00a3 twenty pounds, for 40\u00a3 in Wales you can just about get your car on a wet miserable grass pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the next days we had to leave for the Etosha National park in North Namibia, could have stayed here a week easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
