We headed for Cape town, to get some key points visited on our itinerary, although big cities usually get a miss from us, Europe has amazing cities and hi-tech doesn’t come much better than Dubai, Cape town is a nice place but nothing special, I wanted to show Milly the penguins and Kalk bay on the cape peninsula, and obviously the sort of mountain with a top that sort of looks like a table.<\/div>\n

By chance, Gayle and her daughter were staying nearby so we continued our coordination to meet up and get drunk. The little technical hiccup in Ceres thwarted the jazz night on the seaside, we then got knocked back by the silly rule of the community campsites i.e. go into town find the civic centre and get a bill go then to a bank, and pay it all before 3 pm. Didn’t happen so we ended up on froggy pond campsite right at the peninsula tip Gayle daughter then was working late that night \u2026\u2026 Etc etc blah blah. We saw some penguins, had fish and chips in a old railway carriage, the next day waited around shopping in Kalk bay to see if we could meet up, but\u2026\u2026 etc etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wanted to head for the sun, but we then also didn’t manage to meet up with some SA friends due to\u2026\u2026\u2026.. .We headed for the real tip of Africa. The trip must go on. After getting along the road, we were passing all the wineries, even a tram called the wine tour, ”’get on\/off’ where you want. Gayles telecoms eventually came online and highlighted us to this tram and a place called Franschoek, by chance we had stopped in that town for fuel. We decided to stay on a campsite right on the edge of town next to sir Richard Branson’s winery and spa. But this place was more in our budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

still had the original Gardener diesel engine, and it runs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Milly decided that she wouldn’t go on the piss-up tram because I don’t drink wine and she begrudged paying full price for me to be boring and sober. The next morning we awoke to the sound of road bikes ripping up the mountain pass, we headed off to be a mobile chicane for them, oh boy the cat and fiddle have nothing on this little gem of a road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
